Your Story of Place Matters

This project titled Your Story of Place Matters considers and explores one’s personal experience of place and what it means to belong through a process of visual storytelling. Over a 4 week period local artist, Annemarie Murland will present her ideas and layered approach to visualising place through experimental drawing and painting.

The artist will host a floor talk at Yoga for All, Bolton Street Newcastle, March 11 at 12pm midday to discuss how to participate in the project and she will also demonstrate her use of materials and methods in making.

All participants will be invited to retell their story of place and belonging in the shape of a poem, song, word or quote, for example. All literature presented for response will be anonymous; each person will code their text with their initials and date of birth to identify the work of art.

The project will come to completion on Thursday April 1. All works of art will be exhibited through an online exhibition and will be for sale.
